In 1991 OCS established the Vehicle Audit Division in what is now OCS Inventory and Audit Services, a division of OCS Group UK Ltd, when audits were undertaken for new, used and demonstrator facilities on behalf of 4 manufacturers.
Today OCS audit on behalf of over 60 motor and non motor funders, 30 of which relate to motor only which still constitute the core activity.
Over the last 6/7 years OCS have developed and introduced into the audit process a bespoke software and management reporting facility called ‘SMART’. Using PDA’s stock audit information is gathered, disseminated and reprocessed into a series of unique reports configured to the precise specification of our funder clients.
However, OCS has not stopped there. Using a specialist H/O resource (7) OCS support and manage the expectations of clients in a number of unique ways – specifically in the ‘Risk Mitigation’ arena. This involves the establishment of user groups to share intelligence, best practice (both operational and software enhancement techniques) scheduling, joint audits and using our ‘front end’ software to provide immediate post audit data to facilitate the automatic processing of vital audit data particularly auto appropriations.
OCS is also involved in the ongoing development of some unique initiatives which will benefit not only their extensive client base but all FLA members by providing significant protection (particularly in the early stages of the motor funding process). This is all about challenging convention, being proactive and committing to the high ideals and aspirations of an industry which currently owns over £10 billion of stock all under the collective control of the Retail Motor Industry.
